SINGAPORE, March 7 (Xinhua) -- Featuring more than 20 multi-sensory experiences that blend art and technology, MeshMinds 2.0: ArtxTechforGood was launched here Thursday evening at Singapore's ArtScience Museum.
Mushtaq Memon, Regional Coordinator for Resource Efficiency of the UN Environment's Asia and the Pacific Office, officiated at the opening ceremony of the show, which brings together artists and partners of leading technologies in augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), 3D modelling and printing, artificial intelligence (AI), and the Internet of Things (IoT).
Organised by The MeshMinds Foundation as part of ArtScience Museum's ArtScience in Focus program, the event highlights global sustainability challenges and action towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
"Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals requires urgent and accelerated action from every one of us," Mushtaq Memon said, adding that they need new ways to address the earth's longstanding sustainability challenges and this exhibition will inspire them with creative ideas and innovative solutions in that direction.
Kay Poh Gek Vasey, founder of The MeshMinds Foundation, noted they hope to invite visitors to join in the global sustainability conversation by marrying art and technology together for social good.
The exhibition will be open to the public from March 8 to 17.
