BEIRUT, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese peacekeeping troops at the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) on Monday and Tuesday taught first-aid knowledge at two public schools in southern Lebanon.
The first-aid skills taught by the Chinese medical team included cardiopulmonary resuscitation and hemostasis.
The Chinese peacekeepers, along with the Lebanese troops, also donated more than 100 first-aid kits to the two schools during the two-day event organized by the UNIFIL and the Lebanese army.
Haifa Gheit, principle of the middle school in Lebanon's southern town of Marjayoun, thanked the Chinese peacekeepers for teaching her students first-aid skills.
"I'm happy and honored that the Chinese medical team came to my school," she said.
Luo Maohua, commander of the Chinese medical team, said the Chinese troops are always committed to its peacekeeping mission in Lebanon by carrying out humanitarian medical assistance.
