CARACAS, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- The death toll from Monday's plane crash in southeastern Venezuela had risen to 15, Transport and Communications Minister Francisco Garcessaid.
The ATR-42 model aircraft of the state-run Conviasa airline crashed in Guayana city, Bolivar state. A total of 36 people survived the tragedy.
The plane, carrying 47 passengers and four crew members, was heading to tourist resort Margarita Island when it plunged into the scrap yard of Orinico Steelmaking Company at 10:30 a.m. local time (1500 GMT) soon after taking off from Puerto Ordaz, Bolivar state.
