KABUL, July 30 (Xinhua) -- The body of a second U.S. soldier who went missing in Afghanistan last Friday has been found, a spokesman with NATO forces confirmed on Friday.
The body was found on Wednesday evening in Logar province, some 60 km south of Afghan capital Kabul, the spokesman said. Local officials said on Thursday that the soldier was found dead by Afghan troops on Wednesday in the province and the body has been transferred to U.S. forces.
The body of the other missing soldier was found on Sunday in the same province.
Two U.S. soldiers went missing in Charkh district on Friday and Taliban later claimed responsibility for their abduction. A Taliban spokesman, Zabihullah Mujahid, told media on Sunday that militants killed one of the detained soldiers and kept another at a secret place.
