Noriega, 76, held power in Panama from 1983 to 1989 before he was overthrown by a U.S. military invasion of the Central American country.
He has been jailed for 17 years in the U.S. prison for drug racketeering charges and was expected to be released in September this year.
Early reports said he may face trial in two months after the extradition and if convicted, a 10-year prison sentence will be the result.
