CAIRO, Nov. 7 (Xinhua) -- Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi met on Thursday with visiting Bahrain King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in the Egyptian capital Cairo, where they vowed to continue boosting ties of cooptation between the two countries, the Egyptian presidency said in a statement.
Sisi hailed the Egyptian-Bahraini relations as "a model of strategic cooperation between fellow Arabs," Egyptian precedential spokesman Bassam Rady said in the statement.
"The talks reviewed the latest regional developments. In this regard, President Sisi reiterated Egypt's fixed position on the Gulf region as an integral part of the Egyptian national security," Rady added.
For his part, the Bahraini king expressed his country's keenness on developing and enhancing the mechanisms of bilateral cooperation between Bahrain and Egypt, according to the statement.
The two leaders also discussed a number of crises hitting some Arab states, including war-torn Yemen.
"They agreed to back the efforts seeking to reach political settlements for the different crises in the region," said the Egyptian statement.
The Egyptian president and the Bahraini king also praised the recent agreement signed in Saudi Arabia's capital Riyadh between the Yemeni government and the Southern Transitional Council, according to the Egyptian presidency.
