SAN FRANCISCO, May 28 (Xinhua) -- U.S. leading chipmaker Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. said Monday that it is partnering with China's tech giant Lenovo Group Ltd. to launch the world's first Snapdragon-powered 5G PC for world consumers.
The new PC system, named Project Limitless, will run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx 5G computer platform, the world's first 7nm platform purpose-built for PCs, said the American top chipmaker.
It said the laptop is a result of collaboration between industry leaders on ushering in a new generation of Always On, Always Connected PCs, which will "open the door to new, transformative user experiences for both consumers and enterprise."
The American chip-making giant did not disclose further details about the price or release date of the new PC system, but industry analysts predict that the new PC unit could be launched in early 2020.
