ANKARA, April 20 (Xinhua) -- Sudan's ambassador to Turkey hailed Turkey's support for the Sudanese people's ambition of transitioning to civilian rule, state-run Anadolu Agency reported Saturday.

"Turkey has made statements respecting the choice of the Sudanese people," said Yousif Ahemd El Tayeb El Kordofani.

Kordofani made the remarks at a conference organized by the Institute of Strategic Thinking, a think tank based in the Turkish capital Ankara.

He said the good relations between Sudan and Turkey will continue.
