RABAT, Feb. 16 (Xinhua) -- Speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives Habib El Malki met on Friday with his Portuguese counterpart to discuss means to strengthen parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.
Speaking at a press briefing after the meeting in the capital Rabat, El Malki called for deepening bilateral cooperation by reaching a relevant agreement between the two legislative institutions.
The meeting reflects the good relations between Morocco and Portugal as well as the legislative institutions of the two countries, he added.
The Moroccan Speaker also highlighted the role of the two parliaments in promoting bilateral cultural cooperation considering the long-standing ties between the two countries.
Meanwhile, Ferro Rodrigues, the Speaker of the Portuguese Parliament, also stressed the importance of boosting Moroccan-Portuguese parliamentary cooperation.
He noted that his visit to the kingdom is an opportunity to deepen bilateral relations and exchange experiences between the two parliaments.
