TEHRAN, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) announced Thursday the Islamic Republic has manufactured a machine to produce nuclear fusion laser.

In an announcement posted on its website, AEOI said that researchers have conducted researches in nuclear fusion using inertial electrostatic confinement method, said the announcement.

The research center for science and technology at AEOI designed and manufactured this machine which places Iran the sixth after the United States, Japan, South Korea, Australia and France which already possess the technology, according to the announcement.

The technology has various uses including the energy source and missiles.
