LONDON, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- A suspicious package found on Friday at a distribution center at Britain's East Midlands airport was on a flight from Yemen to Chicago, according to BBC reports.
The plane traveling from Yemen to the U.S. city had stopped at East Midlands airport. Emergency services were called to the site at about 0330 BST and evacuated the distribution center.
The package was reported to be an ink toner cartridge that had been tampered with.
The area was reopened just before 1000 BST but a cordon was reimposed just before 1400 BST so the package could be re-examined "as a precaution," said the reports.
Airport operator BAA said there were no reports of similar incidents at Heathrow or other sites.
Airport authorities said public areas had continued to operate throughout the incident.
A police spokesman said the package is being re-examined as a precaution and as such the cordons that were originally put in place have been reinstated.
