BAGHDAD, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- UN special representative to Iraq Ad Melkert's convoy was hit by a roadside bomb in south of Baghdad on Tuesday, but he was not hurt, local police said.
The convoy was on its way back to Baghdad from Iraq's southern city of Najaf where Melkert met with Shitte cleric Ali al-Sistani, the unnamed police source said.
The attack killed one Iraqi policeman and wounded four others, he added.
