WASHINGTON, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. State Department announced on Monday that it will provide a grant of some 4 million U.S. dollars to help train Iraqi police.
The department said in a statement that the money will provide Iraqi police officers, judicial investigators and corrections officers with the opportunity for enhanced professional development in law enforcement skills, knowledge and specialized expertise.
The statement said the three-year grant, of 4,698,537 dollars, will develop and implement a program inviting as many as 120 selected Iraqi officers to be trained in the United States.
