PYONGYANG, Sept. 29 (Xinhua) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK)'s ruling Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) on Tuesday elected members and alternate members of the Political Bureau of its Central Committee, KCNA, the official news agency of the DPRK, reported on Wednesday.
The election was conducted at the September 2010 Plenary Meeting of the WPK Central Committee, held here right after the Conference of the WPK, said the KCNA report.
Kim Jong Il, the DPRK's top leader, and Kim Yong Nam, Choe Yong Rim, Jo Myong Rok and Ri Yong Ho were elected into the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee.
The Political Bureau members also include Kim Kyong Hui, Kim Yong Chun, Choe Thae Bok, Yang Hyong Sop and eight others.
The alternate members include Jang Song Thaek, Kim Yong Il and 13 others.
