Commenting on Thursday's turbulence, Keneshbek Dushebayev, head of the Kyrgyz National Security Service, also pointed at Bakiyev, saying that his relatives helped plan the coup attempt.

Bakiyev has yet to respond to the accusation. He has repeatedly denied any involvement in recent clashes.

Kyrgyzstan adopted a new constitution in late June, cutting down presidential powers and turning the country into a parliamentary republic. Otunbayeva is serving as prime minister until a new government shapes up after the parliamentary elections scheduled in October.
