"The discussions, taking place now among European Union member countries, are of how to upgrade credit rating functions in the European Union. I think it is very important. I hope there will be decisions to be taken very soon," she said.

Speaking of the future developments of the Greek debt crisis, Katseli said market speculation against Greece had stopped because her country, offered an aid package of 110 billion euros by the European Union and the International Monetary Fund, did not have to enter the bond markets to seek fresh funds in the next two to three years.

Greece should be able to return to the bond markets earlier than expected if Athens made positive results on the fiscal side, she said.
