WASHINGTON, April 30 (Xinhua) -- U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said on Friday that indirect talks between Israelis and Palestinians will resume next week.
"We will be starting with proximity talks next week," Clinton told reporters.
The proximity talks, also known as the indirect talks, was stalled when Israel announced plans to build 1,600 houses in a disputed area in East Jerusalem last month.
The U.S.-Israel relations have been tense as the U.S. was angered by Israel's move which has almost ruined nearly one year's mediation effort by the U.S.
Recently, all the three parties involved are making effort, in a bid to revive the indirect talks.
