STOCKHOLM, Feb. 24 (Xinhua) -- Denmark's Prime Minister Lars Lokke Rasmussen on Wednesday presented a detailed national plan to revitalize the nation from crisis, according to reports reaching here from Copenhagen.
"The plan contains ten concrete promises, including improved reading and writing skills for children in the national schooling system, increased priority for cancer treatment and intervention to stabilize the economy," said the Danish Daily Politiken online.
Among others, these include goals that Denmark should be the richest country in the world in 2020, Danish pupils should be among the world's best in 2020 and that Danish universities should rank among the world's best, the report said.
The government also plans to commit itself to increased priority for the health system, and particularly cancer treatment, that Denmark should be a sustainable "green" society and that the public sector should be more efficient, the report added.
"I have a very strong ambition that this government will also continue after the next election. It is a task that the government cannot do alone. It also needs a strong Parliamentary group," Rasmussen was quoted as saying by the Politiken online.
He reshuffled the government on Tuesday with nine women and ten men ministers and other senior officials, while he also set up ambitious goals.
