GAZA, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- A spokesman for the armed wing of Islamic Hamas movement, al-Qassam Brigades, said on Saturday that Israel should think carefully before launching a new war on Gaza Strip.
Abu Obeida, spokesman of the group, said in a press statement sent to reporters that "the enemy (Israel) will painfully regret if it carries out another dirty war on the Gaza Strip."
Israel launched a large-scale air, sea and ground military operation on Gaza Strip that lasted for 22 days and ended on Jan. 18, 2009, leaving more than 1,440 people killed, most of whom were civilians.
"The war the Zionist enemy carried out against our people in Gaza Strip has changed the rules of the game, where the magic will turn against the magician if the enemy carries out another war," said Abu Obeida.
Abu Obeida's comment came after the Israeli Ma'ariv Daily published parts of a book authored by former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, in which he said that the last war on Gaza failed to topple Hamas movement.
