BERLIN, June 30 (Xinhua) -- German Bundesliga side Schalke have signed Turkish center back Ozan Kabak from relegated side Stuttgart, both clubs confirmed on Sunday.
The "Royal Blues" bolstered up their defence with the transfer of Kabak, who penned a five-year deal to stay with Schalke until June 2024.
"We are very happy that we have managed to sign of the currently biggest European talents for Schalke. Ozan Kabak has consciously chosen for our club despite other interested top-flight clubs," Schalke's sporting director Jochen Schneider said.
The 19-year-old defender joined Stuttgart from Turkish out fit Galatasaray in January 2019 and made ever since 15 Bundesliga appearances.
"My thanks go especially to head coach David Wagner and technical director Michael Reschke, who convinced Ozan decisively that Schalke is the right club for him," Schneider added.
The new arrival will from now on wear the jersey number 4.
