ROME, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- Inter Milan announced their first new arrival of the winter transfer window on Friday as veteran Ashley Young joined the Serie A giants from Manchester United on a reported 1.5 million-pound transfer fee.
Having come through the youth academy of Watford, Young joined the Red Devils from Aston Villa in 2011. The winger/wingback managed 19 goals in 261 matches at Old Trafford in eight and a half seasons and won the Premier League in the 2012-2013 season.
As an England international, the 34-year-old also earned 39 caps for the Three Lions, contributing 7 goals.
Young now becomes the third player to join Inter from Manchester United this season following Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez. According to the Nerazzurri, the veteran has signed a six-month contract which runs to the end of the season with an option for a further year.
Young will wear the No. 15 jersey at the San Siro.
