TOKYO, Jan. 15 (Xinhua) -- The latest polling shows that 70% of Japanese public is interested in the Tokyo Olympic and Pralympic Games, up 5% from a survey taken last August.
The poll, released by Japan's national broadcaster NHK on Wednesday, suggested that 31% respondents are "very much interested" in the Games and 42% are "somewhat interested," which means 73% are interested in the events to kick off in six months.
It also shows that 16% are "not very" interested and only 5% are "not interested at all."
The public opinion poll had conducted for three days since January 11 by NHK, which called men and women aged 18 and over nationwide random numbers on landline and mobile phones.
A total of 2216 people were surveyed, with 55% or 1221 people responding.
