BUENOS AIRES, Nov. 24 (Xinhua) -- Boca Juniors extended their lead at the top of the Argentinian Superliga standings on Sunday with a 2-0 home win over relegation-threatened Union Santa Fe.
Ramon Abila put the hosts ahead in the third minute at La Bombonera by heading in from an Emanuel Reynoso corner.
Alexis MacAllister doubled the lead with a first-time finish from the edge of the six-yard box after fine work from Nicolas Capaldo.
In addition to boasting a superior goal difference, Boca are now three points ahead of second-placed Argentinos Juniors, who will host Newell's Old Boys on Monday.
Third-placed Lanus lost 2-0 at Defensa y Justicia on Saturday to fall behind Argentinos Juniors on goal difference. Meanwhile, Union are 17th with 16 points from 14 matches.
Fourth-placed River Plate are absent from the weekend's round of matches because of their appearance in Saturday's Copa Libertadores final in Lima, which they lost 2-1 to Brazil's Flamengo.
