LONDON, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- Former world No.1 Andy Murray will represent Britain to compete in Davis Cup Finals next month, revealed team captain Leon Smith on Monday.
The LTA, the governing body for tennis in Britain announced that Smith has named four players to travel to Madrid for Davis Cup Finals with a fifth player to be confirmed in the coming weeks.
Both Andy Murray and his elder brother Jamie Murray were called in while Dan Evans and Neal Skupski also in the squad.
"It's been absolutely fantastic to see Andy back competing again including his incredible win in Antwerp yesterday," said Smith.
Andy Murray, 32, won his first title in two years in European Open on Sunday. The three-time Grand Slam champion took two hip surgeries in the past two years and has dropped out of the top 100 in the world rankings.
The new-format Davis Cup Finals will take place from 18th to 24th in November as Britain will fight for a berth in the knockout stages along with the Netherlands and Kazakhstan in Group E.
