LONDON, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Chelsea legend Peter Cech is going to resume his goalkeeper career on ice rather than on grass, as an ice hockey team announced signing with the Czech veteran on Wednesday.
Guildford Phoenix, playing in the second tier of British ice hockey, said that the 37-year-old has been working on his game and will begin his ice hockey career this Sunday when he makes his debut for the Phoenix.
"After 20 years of professional football, this is going to be a wonderful experience for me to play the game I loved to watch and play as a kid," said Cech.
Cech played for Chelsea for more than 10 years before joining Arsenal in 2015. He retired from the Gunners this May and then took up a role as Chelsea's technical and performance adviser.
