MADIRD, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal made a brief assessment of his side's poor start to the season when he spoke on Spanish radio.
Despite spending around 320 million euros (around 350 million U.S. dollars) this summer, Real Madrid has disappointed with both their results and performances at the start of the new campaign, with draws against Valladolid and Villarreal following an opening day win away to Celta Vigo and have five points from a possible nine.
When asked about his side's form Carvajal said that "it was not easy to carry out a revolution."
He was also asked about failed efforts to sign French international Paul Pogba from Manchester United and although he admitted that "people spoke a lot about Pogba," he added, "we can't think about a player who is not with us."
Neymar was also linked with a move to Madrid over the summer, but Carvajal said that when the Madrid players asked the Brazilians in their squad "they told us that they didn't know what was going to happen."
One player who did move this summer was goalkeeper Keylor Navas, who ended four years at Real Madrid to move to Paris Saint Germain and Carvajal admitted he would miss the Costa Rican.
"I shared a lot with Keylor and I spoke a lot to him. He wanted to play regularly and at the end of the day, I think the move was the best option for him," the defender said.
