THE HAGUE, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- After eight years at the same team, Sunweb, Dutch cyclist Tom Dumoulin, announced a move to Team Jumbo-Visma in 2020.
The 28-year-old Dumoulin signed a three-year contract at the Dutch cycling team. He has ridden for his current team Sunweb since 2012, formerly known as Skil-Shimano, Argos-Shimano, Giant-Shimano, and Team Giant-Alpecin.
With the arrival of Dumoulin, Team Jumbo-Visma strengthened their ambitions to win a grand tour in the coming years. Dumoulin won the Giro d'Italia in 2017 and finished second in the Giro and the Tour de France in 2018. Due to a knee injury, Dumoulin failed to make an impact this year.
"I am looking forward to contributing to that goal, winning a grand tour," Dumoulin stated in a press release by Jumbo-Visma. "I was looking for a new sporting challenge and Team Jumbo-Visma is the right team for this."
