WASHINGTON, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- New York Knicks forward Julius Randle on Saturday pulled out of the US team's training camp and the Men's Basketball World Cup as well because of a family issue, local media reported.
Randle's departure leaves 15 players for the training camp to be held in Las Vegas and the US team will select 12 players for the Men's World Cup.
Randle, who signed with the Knicks this offseason, averaged 21.4 points and 8.7 rebounds last season for the New Orleans Pelicans.
The training camp will include Bam Adebayo (Miami Heat); Harrison Barnes (Sacramento Kings); Jaylen Brown (Boston Celtics); Kyle Kuzma (Los Angeles Lakers); Brook Lopez (Milwaukee Bucks); Kyle Lowry (Toronto Raptors); Khris Middleton (Milwaukee Bucks); Donovan Mitchell (Utah Jazz); Mason Plumlee (Denver Nuggets), Marcus Smart (Boston Celtics); Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics); P.J. Tucker (Houston Rockets); Myles Turner (Indiana Pacers); Kemba Walker (Boston Celtics); and Thaddeus Young (Chicago Bulls).
The Men's World Cup will be held in China between Aug. 31-Sept. 15. The US team is the two-time defending champion.
