SUZHOU, East China, July 30 (Xinhua) -- Ligue 1 defending champions Paris Saint-Germain enjoyed a comprehensive 3-0 victory over Sydney FC in the International Super Cup here on Tuesday.
A pair of strikes from Kylian Mbappe and Edison Cavani put PSG firmly in charge before the halftime, and Metehan Guclu sealed the win after the break.
It was PSG's second game in China as they lost to Serie A giants Inter Milan on shootout in Macao, China a couple of days ago.
Mbappe started for Tuesday's game and his attempt in the 9th minute was straight at the goalkeeper Andrew Redmayne while Canani's back-heel attempt smacked the woodwork four minutes later.
PSG finally broke the deadlock in the 37th minute as Mbappe burst down the left and drilled home from a tight angle.
The French side quickly rode the momentum to extend the lead six minutes later when Redmayne just meekly beat away Pablo Sarabia's attempt into Cavani's path who smashed in from a close range.
PSG coach Thomas Tuchel rotated the lineup in the second half and his side added the third in the dying minutes with young player Guclu's stunning back-heel strike.
PSG will take on Rennes for the French Super Cup in China's southern City Shenzhen on August 3.
