BEIJING, July 14 (Xinhua) -- The Minnesota Lynx announced on its official website on Saturday local time that the team has terminated the contract with Chinese forward Shao Ting ahead of schedule.
Shao, who had played the pre-season with the Lynx in 2017, was invited to join the Lynx during the pre-season and played five out of 16 games in the new season, averaging 1.2 points and 1.2 rebounds in 5.4 minutes per game.
According to the club, the elite forward will return to the Chinese national team to prepare for the FIBA Women's Asia Cup, running from September 24 to 29 in Bengaluru, India.
The Lynx seek to revamp the team by activating the All-Star center Temi Fagbenle, who will rejoin the team ahead of Sunday's home game hosting Phoenix Mercury.
