MUSCAT, June 9 (Xinhua) -- Two Omani referees will officiate in the 2019 Asian Beach Handball Championship in China from June 15 to 24, which will feature the 12 teams to have qualified for the 2020 World Beach Handball World Cup.
An official statement by the Oman Handball Federation (AOC) said on Sunday that referees Ayad Al-Moasheri and Waleed Al-Sanani had been selected to take part in the tournament.
The statement added that the Federation has been making efforts to push more Omani referees to participate in various continental tournaments in order to gain more experience, which it is hoped will have a positive effect on local competitions.
The tournament includes two groups of six teams. The first group includes Chinese Taipei, Vietnam, Afghanistan, the Philippines, Indonesia and Qatar, while the second group features Oman, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Japan, Pakistan and Thailand.
