JAKARTA, April 15 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian ice skating federation (FISI) has set a target of 2 gold medals and 1 silver medal in the forthcoming SEA Games in the Phillippines later this year, chairperson of the federation Susan Herawati disclosed here on Monday.
"For this year, we target two gold medals and one silver medal," the chairperson revealed.
Susan said that the federation will send 14 athletes comprising 4 skater competing in figure skating and 10 skaters in short track speedskating.
The federation will recruit 24 athletes to undergo a training camp in South Korea and Russia for three months and have friendly competitions, before selecting the final 10 skaters, she said.
"It is also scheduled some tryout matches. They will leave for South Korea in July," she said.
In the SEA Games 2017 in Malaysia, Indonesian skaters secured one silver medal and one bronze medal, according to the association.
The 30th biennial regional multi-sport event is scheduled to be held in the Phillippines from November 30 to December 11.
