BEIJING, April 1 (Xinhua) -- China's national women's volleyball team, led by coach Lang Ping, has begun a five-week training program in Zhangzhou, Fujian Province, in preparation for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, according to the Zhangzhou Sports Training Center.
This year, the top priority for China's women's volleyball team is to qualify for the 2020 Games. Technical and tactical training will be the focus of the program, in order to better prepare the team for the upcoming Olympic qualifiers and the Women's World Cup.
This is the 46th time that the China's women's volleyball team has used the training facilities in Zhangzhou, also known as the "home of women's volleyball" and the "cradle of the world champions".
Organizers said the training center would do its utmost to provide all-round logistical support, in order to ensure that all players can focus solely on their training.
The volleyball qualifiers for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics will be held in China this year, with the host country set to play Turkey, Germany, and the Czech Republic in the first round beginning on August 2.
