MADRID, March 7 (Xinhua) -- Real Madrid's injury crisis deepened on Thursday when the club confirmed that Spain international right back Dani Carvajal and winger Lucas Vazquez will both be out of action for around a month each with muscle injuries.
The injuries to Carvajal and Vazquez were confirmed a day after it was revealed Madrid's Brazilian winger Vinicius Jr has damaged ankle ligaments and could miss the rest of the season.
Vazquez has a torn left hamstring which forced him out of Tuesday's 4-1 humiliation to Ajax in the Champions League before the half hour and the club confirms he has a "grade one injury."
Carvajal's injury came as a surprise on Thursday given that he played all Tuesday's game without complaining of any problems.
The defender has suffered a "grade 2 injury to the rectus femoris muscle in his right thigh," (on the top of the thigh) and that will also sideline him for around a month, giving a chance to summer signing Alvaro Odriozola to get some minutes under his belt after having to play second fiddle to Carvajal for most of the campaign.
As well as missing three or four Liga Santander matches, depending on how fast they recover, neither player will be available to play for Spain in this month's round of international friendly matches.
There is still no news about Gareth Bale, who ended Tuesday with a badly twisted ankle, but the Welshman took no part in Thursday's training session with the Madrid first team squad and is unlikely to be fit for the weekend visit to Valladolid.
