CASABLANCA, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- Brazil great Rivaldo has been appointed technical director of Moroccan third division club Chabab Mohammedia until the end of the season.
The 46-year-old agreed to personal terms following a meeting with club officials on Thursday.
"(We) have signed the Brazilian legend Rivaldo to oversee the team's technical staff," Chabab Mohammedia said in a social media post.
According to press reports, Rivaldo will assume the head coaching role next season should the club be promoted and on the condition that he obtains the necessary coaching badges.
Rivaldo received the Ballon d'Or trophy, awarded to the world's best player, in 1999 and was a member of the Brazil team that won the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea.
He retired from football in 2015 after playing alongside his son, Rivaldinho, with Brazilian club Mogi Mirim.?
