ACCRA, Dec. 28 (Xinhua) -- Ghana's Asante Kotoko have been drawn against Coton Sport FC of Cameroon in the playoff round of the 2018/2019 Confederation Cup scheduled for next month.
The draw was held in the Egyptian capital of Cairo on Friday.
The first leg of the final round of qualifier will be honored in Cameroon on the weekend of Jan. 11 to 13 before the Ghanaian giants host the return leg a week later.
The winner of the two-legged encounter will progress to the group stage of the CAF's second-tier continental club competition.
Asante Kotoko, which defeated Kenya's Kariobangi Sharks 2-1 on aggregate to make it to the last round of qualifiers, were runner-up in the inaugural Confederation Cup in 2004/2005, losing in the grand finale to archrival Accra Hearts of Oak.
The Porcupine Warriors last participated in the Confederation Cup in 2008, finishing bottom in Group B.
