WINDHOEK, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- Namibia on Monday bowed out of the Council of Southern African Football Association (COSAFA) Women Championships, which are currently underway in South Africa.
Despite Nambia's convincing 4-1 win over Swaziland on Monday, it was not enough to guarantee them a spot to advance.
Namibia lost their opening match against Zimbabwe 1-0 on Sept. 13 and then played to a goalless draw against Uganda on Sept. 15.
Group C ended with Uganda leading the pack on seven points, while Zimbabwe claimed the second spot on six points and Namibia came in third on four points.
Meanwhile, for a third consecutive match, Namibia's Thomalina Adams won the Lady of the Match award.
The semifinals of the tournament are set for Sept. 20 and the bronze and gold medal matches will be contested on Sept. 22.
