BERLIN, May 30 (Xinhua) -- Leipzig have wrapped up their first summer signing after Nordi Mukiele joined from French outfit Montpellier, both teams confirmed on Wednesday.
The 20-year-old defender has inked a five-year deal, which will tie him to Leipzig until June 2023.
"We have scouted Nordi Mukiele for more than a year and we are happy to sign him despite other offers from top-flight clubs," Leipzig's sporting director Ralf Rangnick said.
"I am very happy that my transfer to Leipzig has worked out. The ambitions and the style of play the club stands for, are perfect for me," Leipzig's new arrival told the club's official homepage.
The "Bulls" completed the Bundesliga season 2017/18 on the 6th place of the standings and secure a ticket for next season's UEFA Europa League group stage.
