BUCHAREST, May 5 (Xinhua) -- The women's volleyball team VakifBank Istanbul defeated Italy's Imoco Volley Conegliano on Saturday in the semifinal of the Final 4 of the 2018 CEV Volleyball Champions League in Bucharest and will meet CSM Volleyball Alba Blaj.
VakifBank Istanbul defeated the Italian team 3-2 (25-22, 25-21, 17-25, 15-25, 16-14), in the Ioan Kunst-Ghermanescu Polyvalent Hall in Bucharest.
Most points for VakifBank Istanbul were brought by Chinese player Zhu Ting, 24. Lonneke Sloetjes also scored 16 points, and Milena Rasic had 13. For the Italian team, Samanta Fabris scored 28 points, and Kimberly Hill, 18 and Samantha Bricio Ramos, 15.
In the other semifinal, CSM Volleyball Alba Blaj qualified for the first time for a Romanian team in the final of the Women's Volleyball Champions League, after defeating the Turkish team Galatasaray Istanbul 3-1 (23-25, 25-17, 25-22, 25-22) on Saturday.
