NICOSIA, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- Cypriot champions APOEL's coach Giorgos Donis said on Monday that his team has no fear of Real Madrid ahead of their group H match of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.
"Strange as it may seem, we are not impressed. Of course we respect Real Madrid. Though they are not at their best they are a big team and the European Champions. We will put on a performance to please the fans," Donis said at a press conference.
Though beaten by 3-0 by each Real and Tottenham Hotspur previously, APOEL have better results on home soil as they drew 1-1 twice with Borussia Dortmund.
"We have seen many strong teams on our field and we have got accustomed to looking them in the eyes. So we are optimistic," he added.
"The scoreboard shows that we have our chances and we'll go after them," said Donis.
Real, which lead the scoreboard, arrived in Cyprus on Monday afternoon and trained at night on the field the match will be played on.
