JAKARTA, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian Volleyball Association was upbeat over the two-gold medal target for both men's and women's volleyball in the 29th SEA Games in Malaysia this month, chairman of the association Imam Sudjarwo said.
The target was made based on the performance of the Indonesian players, Sudjarwo said in a statement on Tuesday night.
"I am optimistic we can meet the target that we have made. A gold medal for men, and a silver medal for women, and one gold medal if it is possible," he said.
Indonesia's men team is in Group B along with the Philippines, Vietnam and Timor Leste, and its women's team is pitched in Group A with Thailand and Myanmar.
Its men's team placed 4th in the Asian senior volleyball championship in East Java of Indonesia from July 24 to August 1, which was participated by 16 nations, while its women's team finished runner-up in the VTV tournament in Vietnam from July 8 to 15.
The Indonesian volleyball players will depart to Malaysia on Saturday, as the SEA Games will run from Aug. 19 to 31 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
