TEHRAN, June 18 (Xinhua) -- The Iranian freestyle wrestlers finished in first place at the Junior Asian Wrestling Championships on Sunday.
The Iranian team won three gold medals, two silvers and two bronzes, claiming the title with 69 points, according to Tehran Times daily.
Uzbekistan finished in second place with 67 points and Kazakhstan came third with 57 points.
Also, Iran put in impressive performances by claiming the Greco-Roman title on Saturday.
The young Iranian wrestlers notched 71 points to stand atop the podium by a wide margin in the team division of the tournament.
The Junior Asian Wrestling Championships kicked off in the Taichung city of China's Taiwan Province on June 15, and were wrapped up on June 18, 2017.
The tournament brought together dozens of male and female freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestlers from various Asian countries and regions, including China, Chinese Taipei, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, South Korea and Uzbekistan.
