TEHRAN, June 17 (Xinhua) -- Iran has put in impressive performances at the Junior Asian Wrestling Championships, claiming the Greco-Roman title, Press TV reported on Saturday.
The young Iranian wrestlers notched 71 points to stand atop the podium by a wide margin in the team division of the tournament.
They were followed by representatives from Kazakhstan, who tallied 58 points to claim the second spot.
Wrestlers from India and Uzbekistan sat in the third and fourth places with 55 and 54 points respectively.
The Junior Asian Wrestling Championships kicked off in the Taichung city of China's Taiwan Province on June 15, and will wrap up on June 18, 2017.
The tournament brought together dozens of male and female freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestlers from various Asian countries and regions, including China, Chinese Taipei, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, South Korea and Uzbekistan.
