RIO DE JANEIRO, Oct. 24 (Xinhua) -- Former Brazil captain Thiago Silva has expressed his wish to remain at Paris Saint Germain beyond this season.
The 32-year-old, who is contracted to the French Ligue 1 outfit until June 2018, is reportedly being pursued by several top European clubs.
"We started talking [about a new contract] last year. I do not know why we didn't continue," the central defender was quoted as saying by Sambafoot on Monday. "But I am happy. I'm happy here. I want to stay and extend my contract but we need to speak with the president to see what we'll do."
Last week, Silva's agent, Paulo Tonietto, said his client could be tempted to leave PSG if he is not offered a new deal by December.
Silva joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2012 from AC Milan for 42 million euros and has made 166 appearances for the French club.
