RIO DE JANEIRO, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- Former Brazil international striker Jo is in talks with Corinthians over a return to his former club, according to media reports.
The 29-year-old is a free agent after parting ways with Chinese Super League outfit Jiangsu Suning in July.
Corinthians see him as a solution to the their dearth of attacking options as they look to strengthen their squad for next year, the Uol news portal reported.
Jo is currently training with another former club, Atletico Mineiro, in an effort to maintain his fitness.
He scored nine goals in 24 matches for Jiangsu Suning, who he joined in February from United Arab Emirates side Al-Shabab.
Jo began his professional career at Corinthians before joining CSKA Moscow in 2005.
The former Manchester City forward has been capped 20 times for Brazil, scoring five international goals.
