BERLIN, June 29 (Xinhua) -- Lukas Rupp leaves relegated Stuttgart to join Hoffenheim, both sides confirmed on Wednesday.
The 25-year-old new arrival will reinforce Hoffenheim for the upcoming season as he has agreed on a four-year deal until June 2020.
"With the signing of Lukas Rupp we have continued over personnel planning. He is a player who fits exactly into our requirement profile. Lukas is a versatile midfielder who can play defensively but also set the tone in the offense," Hoffenheim' s director of professional soccer Alexander Rosen said.
Rupp, who started his senior career at Karlsruher SC in 2009, played for Monchengladbach, Paderborn and Stuttgart to score nine goals in overall 94 top-flight appearances.
"I am convinced that I have accumulated experiences in recent years to make an important contribution with my qualities and to establish Hoffenheim in the league," Rupp said.
Hoffenheim avoided the relegation into the second division after completing the last Bundesliga season on the 15th place of the standings.
