YUSHAN, China, March 20 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Shi Hanqing and Chen Siming won the men and women's title respectively at the 2016 Chinese Billiard World Championship in Yushan, Jiangxi Province.
Michael Hill, who defeat home favorite Ding Junhui in the first round, headed into the final to meet Shi. Both players swapped lead in the best-of-41 final.
Shi dropped the cue ball when he led 19-18 and wasted another chance in the 40th frame. But he managed to grasp the final chance to win in front of a home crowd.
Last year's champion Darren Appleton beat Li Bo in the bronze medal match.
In the women's final, Chen Siming took the 11-7 lead in the first phase and extended it to 16-11 in the second. With five match points at hand, she won 17-11 after Fisher's turnover.
"I'll be more peaceful in mind after winning the championship," said the Chinese national team player who had choked in big moments. "I rate my game 95 points out of 100. I can still do better."
Liu Shasha outscored Yangfan 13-5 in the bronze medal match on Saturday night.
