BERLIN, Nov. 13 (Xinhua) -- Monchengladbach's caretaker Andre Schubert has been named as permanent head coach, the "Foals" confirmed on the club's official homepage on Friday.
After a long back and forth Andre Schubert has been appointed as Monchengladbach's head coach. Schubert has put pen to paper on a new deal that keeps him with the "Foals" until June 2017.
"Andre did a very convincing job in the past eight weeks and achieved excellent results with the team. We held extensive talks in the last days. We know that our team is in good hands with him and have therefore decided to give him a contract as head coach," Monchengladbach's sporting director Max Eberl said.
Monchengladbach's former Under-23 coach took the reins on September 21 after head coach Lucien Favre stepped down following six straight defeats into the season.
The 44-year-old coach was actually appointed as an interims solution, as the club wanted to search calmly for a new coach. However, the club reconsidered their quest for a new coach as Andre Schubert staged convincing performances at the sideline following six consecutive wins and one draw in the Bundesliga.
Monchengladbach sit currently on the 6th place and encounter Hannover at the 13th round in Bundesliga on November 21.
