SHANGHAI, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- Former Olympic hurdles champion Liu Xiang completed a 10-kilometer run on Sunday morning, saying he is now looking at half marathon.?
The 2004 Olympic gold medalist in 110m, who retired early this year, clocked an unimpressive time of a little over 50 minutes over the distance during the 2015 Shanghai International Marathon.
"I really enjoyed it," said Liu. "I didn't feel tired at all."
It was the longest run the former hurdler has ever tried.
"My previous record was 6km. I used to run on the straight track with speed and explosive power," he said.
"My next aim is half marathon. I will also try full marathon in the future."
The 20th edition of annual Shanghai marathon, which featured marathon, half marathon, 10km and 5km, attracted 35,000 runners including 6,300 from outside China.??
