MADRID, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- Lucas Alcaraz became the second coach to be sacked this season in Spain' s BBVA Primera Liga on Sunday when Levante dispensed with his services in the wake of their 4-0 home defeat to Real Sociedad.
The experienced coach leaves the Valencia based club after just over a season at the helm after replacing Jose Luis Mendilibar, who was sacked after just three games in charge last season.
Alcaraz was able to avoid relegation last season, but he leaves Levante with the club bottom of the BBVA Primera Liga with just six points from their opening nine matches and just one victory.
Last week saw Paco Herrera sacked by Las Palmas in the wake of a 4-0 defeat to Getafe.
Levante will now look to appoint a new coach during the week, but whoever gets the job faces as difficult debut as Levante visit the ground of city rivals, Valencia next Saturday.
